How To Show Your Home

• Make all needed repairs, (Leaking faucets, sticky floors etc...)
• Make your home as neutral as possible. A fresh coat of paint is worth thousands of dollars (Use neutral color)
• Declutter home as much as possible; Closets, kitchen countertops, etc (The fewer things on the countertop the better, remove magnets from the refrigerator).
• Get rid of excess furniture (Rent a mini storage space)
• Depersonalize by removing photos & trinkets. A few photos give cheer, too many distract potential buyers.
• Check the caulk and grout around bathtubs and showers
• Display your best towels
• Wash windows and replace torn screens
• Clean carpets and floors

WHEN A SHOWING IS SCHEDULED:

  • • Open all draperies and window shades during daylight hours.
  • • Turn on all lights and replace bulbs with high wattage bulbs where needed.
  • • Weather permitting, open windows one half hour before showing to circulate air.
  • • Open all the doors between rooms to give an inviting feeling.
  • • Pets should be confined or restricted from view. Eliminate pet odors. Not everyone may share your love of animals and some people may be allergic to them.
  • • When you leave the house, please leave it as if you know it is going to be shown. You never know when the right person is going to look at it!
